An interesting recipe
I won’t say much about this recipe except that cooking can be an extremely technical exercise with laboratory-type demands on the cook. It’s a recipe prepared for our astronauts. Pretty wild, huh? I have no clue as to what a Bostwick consistency reading measures? I think it would be fun to be in the kitchen with the chef preparing this recipe. I imagine with the tools they have, achieving almost perfect consistency is easier. What I am salivating about is the amount of control they have over ever part of the cooking process and their ability to objectively measure everything that is going on. After all, isn’t that what a cook tries to do anyway-control ingredients and heat so that the final product is what he or she wishes it to be. The NASA cooks just have cooler tools to do it.
