Emma’s Silly Snake

I’ve been working on/off with this project for a few weeks now and finally finished it last night.  I don’t know how I came up with the idea, maybe I saw it on a blog, perhaps a body pillow inspired me?

Isn’t it cute?  I really wish I would have done an open mouth but I just ran out of time and didn’t have any red felt handy.  Here is a breakdown of materials:

body – ‘repackaged’ receiving blankets at Target $1.50 (and I have many, many strips leftover!)

head – an outgrown and stained onesie (a gift from my mom= free!)

eyes – buttons from an old maternity sweater I no longer have (free)

tongue – the snap from a very old and tiny sleeper that fell off and I never got around to sewing back on. (free)

bow – leftover from another project (free)

craft batting to fill the snake (1 regular sized bag $5.99 – but I used a 50% coupon of course! = $3.00)

Total Cost of Project= UNDER $6.00!
