The Red River Zoo Presents: Feast or Famine
Tony and I made a decision to become Red River Zoo members for the year and in just the first few weeks I feel like we have already gotten well more than our money’s worth! We’ve taken several trips to the zoo on weekends and tonight was another special trip for us. I called a couple of days ago and got us tickets to see a deer carcass feeding to the zoo’s wolf pack. We showed up, along with our friends Alissa and John and their boys and gathered in the enclosed wolf viewing area with about 20 other spectators to get a quick lesson about the wolves’ lifestyle and behaviors:
Then Emma and James ran around for a while (in the rain) while the staff drug the carcass through the wolf den and got it set up for eating/viewing:
Aren’t they so cute:
You can kind of see high up on the hill, they are bringing the carcass down:
Baby Erik Came too. I think he was surprised by my camera flash!
And the main attraction- the wolves and the deer carcass:
The End. How do you spend YOUR Thursday nights?
